Welcome to the Greening Schools Help Desk! Do you have a question related to pollution prevention, energy efficiency or related issues for school buildings, or are you interested in finding curricula or activities related to a particular pollution prevention topic? Can't find what you're looking for in the "Resources" section of this site? Then you've come to the right place! Simply fill out the form below and click on the "Submit" button to send us your question.
What you get:
- 1 hour of free literature or Internet searching on the pollution prevention subject your question pertains to
- A response within a week-usually you will have your response within 1-2 business days
- We have a bank of experts on various pollution prevention topics and school administration aspects at our disposal. If our Help Desk staff cannot find what you're looking for, or if we're aware of an expert who might provide you with further assistance, we'll forward your question to the expert for a response. Please note that only your question, not your name and contact information, will be forwarded to experts as appropriate. The Help Desk manager of course needs your contact information in order to get resources to you effectively, but this information will be kept confidential. The manager is a WMRC staff member, and WMRC is a non-regulatory division of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. Please do not hesitate to ask us questions for fear that your school building will be inspected the next day! We're here to help schools prevent pollution and find information on environmental issues, not to look for violations and administer fines.
What you won't get:
- An absolute answer to a specific question-we provide you with references, links, and contact information to help you find what you're looking for. Our experts may provide you with suggestions based upon your question. In any case, you must draw your own conclusions.
