URL: http://www.epa.gov/epaoswer/osw/students/school.pdf
Abstract: "Organized groups have a tremendous opportunity to operate waste reduction programs. School-related groups might include science classes, environmental clubs and parent-teacher organizations. Other groups might include Girl and Boy Scouts, Boys and Girls Clubs, 4-H, or Future Farmers. These groups can often educate the whole community about the benefits of waste reduction and encourage everyone to make waste reduction a part of their everyday life styles. Increasing the flow of reusable and recyclable materials can even generate extra funds for school departments and groups." This publication from EPA identifies waste reduction prorgrams taht work and techniques for starting a waste reduction program as well as some case studies.
